  • Carlos Rose, 8, lives in McDowell County, West Virginia, and is the youngest of ten children. McDowell County is one of the poorest counties in America.
  • Angel Spitzmacher, entered her son, Michael Spitzmacher, Jr. in the baby contest at the Haddam Neck Fair in Connecticut. He didn't win, but Spitzmacher said she was still proud of him.
  • Lindsey Reelick, 4, rests while dressed as Cinderella at Connecticut Children's Medical Center . Reelick and others children in the hospital were recipients of the {quote}Reverse Trick or Treating{quote} where staff  members came by and delivered goodies to the children. {quote}All the doctors and nurses have been really fantastic,{quote} said Dana Reelick, her mother. {quote}They have made it fun for her - they've made it a special day.{quote}

  • Maira Pizano, 15, gets ready for her Quinceanera in her bedroom with the help of a friend. A Quinceanera is a rite of passage for many hispanic girls on their fifteenth birthday.
  •  Robin Ayers, 19, lives in the rural mountains of Eastern Kentucky and is the single mother of Shawnta, center. Like so many in the region, Ayers struggles each week to get by financially.
  • Wil Kornegay is from Groton and has played the sport for 10 years and is the leading scorer on the Connecticut Jammers Wheelchair Rugby Team. {quote}It's the first team sport I was good at,{quote} said Kornegay. {quote}I just love the opportunity to play a sport where I can get some aggression out. I'm quick and I hit hard.{quote}
  • Connecticut RenegadesJoan Davis, of West Granby, poses for a portrait in Enfield. \{quote}It\'s most exciting adreneline rush I\'ve ever experienced,\{quote} said Davis, who is the vice-president of the organization.  \{quote}We love the dress-up part of it. We step into that, and sometimes we even start talking in a western lingo. I grew up watching Roy Rogers, Gene Autry,  Hopalong Cassidy and Annie Oakley.
